Pros
I have worked at Zynga for five years now, and I've observed the following things to be consistent as I have moved around it. - I have rarely encountered individuals who are not driven to succeed or disrespectful. - 3.5 out of 5 star food provided daily with other options somewhat nearby. - Strong sense of ownership of business outcomes - Great place to learn and grow for technical disciplines. At better times, efficient work is rewarded. - Pay is a little above reasonable for the area. - Culture encourages having fun at the workplace but still be professional about it.
Cons
- There feels like there is a conflict between attempting to be transparent about strategy and covering up internal politics at the upper management level. Very often, management will have high degrees of confidence of current directions of development, but be misguided in their confidence. - Turnover has been getting higher as confidence in the company has gone down. When this occurs at the management levels, it results in thrash in strategy. - The stock price has not been a very high payoff for a long time employee. - Contracting work can particularly suck, especially when working remote. It is fairly easy to feel left in the dark.
