Pros
Nice people, respectful environment (mostly), job satisfaction if you have the right line manager, good benefits package, minimal micro-management (dependent on line manager) and good recognition (again, dependent on line manager)
Cons
Significant 'office politics'/in-fighting, no clear strategy, very limited investment in infrastructure, projects are always late/postponed and working at skeleton staff levels 100% of the time (moreso recently following large-scale redundancy program)
