Get ready…
-Low pay and poor benefits (no PTO, 401k match, commission, equipment)
-Most of the leadership team and HR are unethical and incompetent; they rarely interact with the team unless there is an issue
-Little opportunity for advancement. You will start as a Relations-, Leasing-, or Onboarding- (etc.) “Manager”. You will also end there, unless you get promoted to shift manager or dept head, which isn't a good thing. Keep your head down, do good work/meet quotas, and hope they give you the raises they promised in the beginning if your productivity increased (they won’t). Get your real estate license and they will give you a $2.00 raise. They will reimburse you for the course fee as well.
-I’m not sure what department heads do other than call people on their mistakes
-Negative atmosphere: a manager admitted to me that those in leadership constantly talk poorly about employees, engage in gossip, and complain about petty issues
-No culture: just get in, send 50 emails, do what your leader should be doing, possibly get publicly humiliated, and get out
-High turnover, senseless firing, and constantly understaffed; sink or swim mentality; guidance provided in the form of being publicly chastised; poor management of employee schedule requests and limitations.
-Security concerns (the previous review that stated employees use their own equipment and therefore have sensitive client information, documents, and bank account details downloaded on their computer is 100% accurate. I still find occasional Ziprent detritus on my computer).
-No care, empathy, or loyalty for employees: leaders actively prevent advancement of teammates they don’t like, teammates with depression/health issues/learning disabilities or who were a bit older than most of the other staff were discriminated against and targeted, and there seemed to be conflicts between certain department managers that impeded teamwork and operational efficiency
-A bit of CEO micromanagement, but I didn’t think it was too bad actually. “Smile and nod”, be respectful, then go back to kicking butt at your job!
Don't bother. Looks like the starting pay is much less now too (almost half as much). Super cool.
