Pros

You'll notice that a majority of the positive reviews for Zentail were left between 2018-2021, with a few generically positive reviews sprinkled in from 2022-2023. Yea, that's for a reason. The benefits package was the best part.

Cons

Where to begin?? Its an extremely toxic workplace hiding behind the idea that tech start ups are FUN and you're supposed to be burnt-out, underpaid, and stressed because fast-paced environments are FUN! See, they are FUN??!! - Genuinely laughable that someone said there were no office politics. The CEO likes to surround himself with 'yes men'. As a result, the 'executive team' makes big company changes without any input from the professionals they hired to give that input. It also felt like there was some clear favoritism happening. - None of the managers have any experience being people managers outside of Zentail - and it shows. There is a serious lack of empathy and accountability from management. Lots of talk of 'loyalty to the company', but no loyalty to the people on the team. - Some seriously questionable hiring decisions and practices. Some positions were allowed to be fully remote for seemingly random reasons, while everyone else was forced to go in 2-3 days a week. Its a tech-start up, everyone's job can be done online. Why make people go in?? - Oh, and there's no HR. - No true upward mobility. Promotions are practically unheard of. The salaries are not competitive in the market. Very little to no support for professional development opportunities.

Pros

What stands out to me is that everyone really cares- from the sales team to support and engineering. It's also nice to know that your voice is heard and you have an opportunity to influence the direction and success of the company. The software is well positioned in the space and solves a really tough problem for its users.

Cons

It's a startup in an evolving industry, so things are pretty fast-paced. You have to be comfortable with shifting priorities from time to time.

Pros

pay was on par with or just below industry standard, hybrid work is nice, health insurance options were pretty solid.

Cons

when i started it seemed generally great there, but over time, a chain of poor decisions from the top caused the company to really slip. a once large staff was laid off down to a skeleton crew. there was an illusion of transparency from the executive staff- but looking back it wasn't really that upfront at all and frankly, a bit deceptive. poor prioritization/direction for the teams there, and i assume poor allocation of company funds means they can't afford employees anymore. high churn rate for their software users which doesn't bode well for job security.
