Pros

The lower level management TRULY does care about the employees, and fear for their jobs just as all employees do.

Cons

Executive Management is rude, and does not even speak to employees. I was terminated for not making enough commission, however, one of the higher revenue earners for the company. Employees are just a body in a chair to them. They DO NOT promote from within... I had to train 4 of my managers in the 2.5 years that I was there. The Attrition rate is at about 51%, mostly due to inadequate training by a person that has NEVER performed the actual responsibilities of the work itself. Be cautioned, accepting a position within this company will not be a long term career, they are charging Medical Providers to receive payment for services rendered, which will be rendered illegal at some point.

Pros

I 've been with Zelis for more than 3 years, and it's been a great place to build a career. One of the biggest benefits is the flexibility. Working remotely has allowed me to maintain a healthy work-life balance, which is incredibly important because my family is my top priority. I've always felt trusted to manage my work while still being present for the moments that matter most outside of work. The company has created an environment where employees are empowered to do their jobs without unnecessary micromanagement. Leadership encourages collaboration, and I've had opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute in meaningful ways. The culture is supportive, and I've enjoyed working alongside talented colleagues who genuinely care about helping each other succeed.

Cons

Like any growing organization, there are times when processes and priorities change, which can take some adjustment. Clear communication during periods of change is always appreciated, but overall, these have been manageable and haven't taken away from my positive experience.

Pros

Good work/life balance, generous PTO

Cons

• Excessive management layers: There are too many layers of management, many of which seem focused on self-preservation rather than supporting the team. This creates unnecessary bureaucracy, leaving employees bogged down with low-value tasks and corporate checkboxes instead of meaningful work. • Outdated technology and resistance to innovation: The tech stack is significantly outdated, and there is a clear resistance to adopting modern solutions. For example, I was penalized for incorporating AI into development work, despite other teams being encouraged to use tools like ChatGPT for less impactful tasks. Opportunities to implement cost-saving, AI-driven solutions were dismissed without proper consideration. • Unsustainable expectations for advancement: Promotions appear to be reserved only for top performers who are willing to prioritize work above all else. The expectation to “eat, sleep, and breathe” the job creates an unhealthy work-life balance and limits growth opportunities for otherwise strong contributors.
