Pros
I joined Zedify in January 2021 as one of the first non-management employees. Since then, we have been working out how we work as we go along. As a business, we are never afraid to try new things and the leadership encourage people to bring forward creative ideas and suggestions. I am really bought into the mission and purpose of the business and the visionary leadership of Rob and Sam has been inspiring, which is what keeps me coming to work! I have worked harder than I have ever worked at anything before, because I believe in what we're doing, and love it. It is an exciting and creative place to work, and I'm so glad I chose to work here and not at a larger corporate - but you have to embrace the challenge and know you won't just clock in and clock out. In the Engineering team we are using new software and are building a cutting-edge product using modern languages. Using IntelliJ makes the coding experience more enjoyable and we have had great training from the co-creator of the Apache Isis framework.
Cons
Using the latest open-source software can sometimes mean that the documentation and support is a little lacking. But the CTO has been very proactive in reaching out to the software creators and this hasn't ever been a real problem. As we are a fast-growing business, there are times that our small team can be very stretched, which can sometimes be stressful.
