Pros

Zachary had a great employee life balance. There were plenty of opportunities for those wishing to work 80hours a week in the field on a project and also opportunities to do good work only working 40 in the office. The work was interesting and the local leadership sincerely seemed to care about their employees

Cons

Zachary shut down offices with no heads up. Yes, the offices went multiple months without work, and it made sense to close those offices, but there was no communication or hint from corporate leadership that those changes were coming. The company leader flew out to each office with open discussions and the message from him was that these are all the major changes coming that we anticipate. Looking back it seemed his story didn’t match the one that the rest of us were seeing. The culture changed more dramatically after the acquisition of ambitech. Before ambitech, the reputation Zachary had was that they would get the job done. Good work quality, good work ethic and willing to work with clients. After ambitech acquisition, the engineering department started releasing people from positions with no heads up about looking for efficiencies or reductions. It was as if someone from ambience told corporate leadership that they could deliver better profits immediately if given the rule of the roost. And they did, at least in the short term, by firing people.

Pros

Some other employees were friendly.

Cons

Human Resource personnel on site in small CT office (1 wo/man show)and even in corporate office need to be re-educated on ethics, harassment, discrimination and in general and basic employment laws in general how to treat employees as human beings. No trust. Even if you quit, if new employer calls to verify employment do not be surprised if they say you were terminated. Fair warning.
