Pros

Exposure to wide variety of telecom hardware Low cost gear that catches the operators attention Global footprint

Cons

Chinese Centric Environment; little to no opportunity for Local Advancement. You are either a Chinese employee or Local employee and the company feels like two companies. Chinese employees constantly rotating through the office and around the world (locals largely excluded from this practice). Once a local establishes a working relationship with a Chinese expat they leave and the next person is often young and inexperienced. IT tools are years behind other telecom outfits (Lotus Notes, Office 2003 are widely used). Homegrown tools are often in Chinese only but if they are bilingual they are confusing and amateur-ish. High Turnover rate in Local Staff. Management Practices are not the norm for Western Companies but is improving.
