Pros
The team camaraderie is the only reason I stuck around for as long as I did in the lab.
Cons
This company could be the poster child for nepotism, a huge red flag. Not only has nepotism allowed for individuals to get positions they are not qualified for, it has also allowed HR to turn a blind eye to inappropriate misconduct. HR did nothing about grotesque behavior being exhibited by management after it had been reported multiple times by various individuals. I discussed with colleagues about the behavior being displayed by management, and it became very clear what a long term issue this has been for the company. I even found out I was lied to about why the position I filled was open. Management had explained to me people had left due to COVID, but it turns out half the team had been fired, a decision that did not sit well with the remainder of the team... While I was working here, a higher up individual in the lab was fired for seemingly no reason. This was like the 4th person to be fired in 6 months. When the team confronted management about this individual getting fired, we were told it was for business reasons. Funny enough, when we asked business related questions, like who would be taking over this person's work, management was unable to provide an answer. It became very clear many of us were seen as replaceable by management and many of us started to fear getting fired every time we came into the office. I highly recommend steering clear of ZRT. I genuinely wish I had never worked here or stepped foot in the building (toxic masculinity would be the best way to sum it up). Both my mental and physical health struggled while I was here, maybe that is why they offer decent health benefits. There are many labs in the Portland metro area, many of whom know the horrendous reputation created by the ZRT Laboratory management, so do yourself a favor and do not work here!
