Cons
This concerns department of Engineering - I cannot claim for other departments: The professors have first and last, and are expected to be obeyed completely from their employees as well as the HR. There are ofcourse some very good professors and managers but if you are unfortunate to end up with the other ones leave as fast as you can. Micromanagement, no freedom and independence, and on the first sign of dissobedience you are side tracked. After escalating to the top and HR one gets only head nodding and statements like " I am really sorry for that". The boss remains intact and you fly away. Extremly bad and noninclusive culture with a very bleak projection. No one was happy in my team and everyone looks how to leave. Good luck.
