ZF is a tier one automotive supplier that has designed, engineered and produced parts in most areas of the automobile for over a 100 years. Specializing in vehicle electronics, transmissions, shifters and chassis technology. The North American headquarters in Northville is a major hub for this engineering activity. With a worldwide presence ZF is and will be a major player for a long time to come. A German company that tries hard to bridge all cultures while producing complex products. Decent benefits, work-from-home available to those who are lucky. ZF does a fairly decent job at hiring quality people. Malcontents do not last.
Cons
The cramped working environment! Small office cubes with minimal storage or workspace. Low profile walls that allow for an incredibly noisy and distracting environment. This was created a few years back in anticipation of a hiring spree. The result has not been positive as most employees seem annoyed by the set up. Skype meetings are common all over and the noise level can be ridiculous. Poor execution by a company that you would expect more from. Working from home is preferred and some are lucky enough to have that privilege. Those that cannot must endure a less than desirable working environment.
