      Pros

      People are friendly. Work environment is relaxed. Interns get to wite production code. Always stuff to do, but never too much anxiety to meet deadlines. Development team is small (~10 people), but very knowledgeable and talented. Product manager is great, used to be a developer. Same for CTO. As an intern, I got to know all of the other technology people, and even spoke to the CEO from time to time. Company is continued to grow and take on new challenges.

      Cons

      No code review. For me, too small of a place to start my career.

      Pros

      ZAIS Group is a fairly small company that recently went public. It's a friendly and intelligent group of people, with generous benefits and vacations. ZAIS is headquartered in Red Bank, a vibrant small town on the New Jersey shore.

      Cons

      For those unwilling or unable to relocate, Red Bank could be a commute from the NYC area. However, it is a nice place to live. Compensation lacks transparency.
