Pros

(Some) good RPMs. They’re overworked and undervalued but two specifically are excellent to work with.

Cons

The senior leadership team consistently creates and contributes to an increasingly toxic workplace. Their main functions are to micromanage and drive away talent, seemingly. They provide no support, operating procedures, or anything besides mandates to achieve unrealistic goals. This culture dictates that any lack of performance must be SOMEONES fault, it cannot acknowledge that GSA’s value-add investments seem to be ill-timed and ill-placed in underperforming markets. I come to work daily and fight to keep my team out of the sights of this regime. We fight as hard as possible day in and day out to overcome hardship at our asset, proving our worth each day, and yet there is always a finger being pointed at us because they would rather create a scapegoat than support, or god forbid, take any accountability. To put it in perspective, my annual raise can be measured in CENTS per hour. I have been passed over for promotions and internal advancement, despite glowing recommendations from support teams and other managers. My talent, career, and mental health are being wasted here. I have recruiters and senior leaders from around the industry in my DMs and email daily, and best believe I will be taking my talents elsewhere as soon as I find the right opportunity for myself. The amount of turnover is staggering. And their willingness to fire is even more so. Regionals are gone left and right (from what I am hearing another one dropped today). There is no consistency except for fear and toxicity in this business. Dot group needs to tighten the rope on this business, because this senior leadership team is going to drive Yugo into the ground and the values of GSA’s assets into the tank.
