Pros

The team is why I joined YourBase, and the team is why I stay. Everyone is caring, considerate, and easy to be around. Once in a while you get an unexpected box of chocolates or macarons in the mail just for being here. The team is 100% remote across several time zones and has a great remote work culture. People are ready and willing to try new ideas and tools to solve remote problems. People take work-life balance seriously. Management intently listens to employee feedback. One employee survey revealed people felt "good" about benefits but not "very good". The most common answer to what could be added was 401(k). One month later we all had 401(k)s. The product is unique and technically interesting. It can be a challenge to convince a customer it's not too good to be true.

Cons

It's really hard to describe the product to nontechnical people. Even for technical folks, it takes more than a sentence. It's a startup. Once or twice a year you get whiplash from a product pivot, or have a company-wide existential crisis. They're necessary and everyone's on the same boat working together, but they're there.

Pros

The YourBase team is comprised of a great group of people that are always willing to help where needed. The problem set is very interesting. It is an environment that requires learning new things on a regular basis.

Cons

There are really no cons for me. If you are not comfortable with working remotely, this could be a con.

Pros

- Culture. We are an empathetic company, and we appreciate showing everyone how lucky we are for having them. - People. I think that behind a great company's culture, we will find amazing people. Everyone at YB is caring, helpful, and super bright. It's a joy to work with them. - Technical challenging product. It is common to find software engineers who do not believe we can do what we promise until they see our magic working. That is amazing not only for our clients but also for our team. People (technical or not) feel challenged all the time because we are working on something meaningful and challenging. - We have no office space. Everyone works remotely, and you own your agenda. - Constant Feedback Loop. Not only between managers and employees but also on the whole company with our monthly surveys. We do take them seriously. - Growth opportunities. At YB, I found career opportunities that would be pretty hard to find anywhere else. - No need to ask for a raise or a promotion. Once my manager thinks I am ready, I get a salary raise or promotion. I know my work here is recognized, and I don't need to go through all the stress a promotion process can bring. I can keep focused on doing my job. - Daily Impact. I love seeing the tremendous impact our daily work brings to our clients and our company. It's super exciting. - Diversity and Inclusion. - Understanding and Flexible. We recognize we are humans, and people may need things we have not thought about before. We want people to feel welcomed and belonged, so we aim to be understanding and flexible. - Fun. It's work, but I have a lot of fun! It makes things lighter. I love that!

Cons

- YB is still a startup, and it is inevitable sometimes not to feel very confident if it will work out. - We always have our plates really full. So it is always intense.
