Pros

Huge commitment to the charity's mission and great people working at a delivery level who want to make a difference. Great opportunities for the charity to punch above its weight

Cons

The most unhealthy, toxic, reddish, bullying working environment. Talented people leave and are disaffected. Senior management are totally disconnected and at odds with each other

Pros

- the people. I have never worked anywhere with more committed and passionate people. - the cause. The work Youngminds does can’t be faulted. As a charity it is committed to its goals. - to some extent flexibility - but this was undermined by workload. - Emma Thomas was a great CEO but hasn’t been the CEO for a number of years. Those that have taken over have not met the same standard.

Cons

- unattainable workload. Expectations to work above and beyond hours. Almost encourages compassion fatigue. Work done to assess workload was never acted on. - poor SLT. Poor decision making. Bad people management. Lack of learning from mistakes. - failure to see employees as ‘humans’. Poor at managing people, especially as a mental health charity. - promotion based on if you fit and were liked. - poor performance of senior management not addressed - leading to risk.
