Worst Job Experience I Ever Had - Anonymous employee Young Womens Project Employee Review

This was the worst job that I have ever worked at. The first mistake I should have known was that there is no HR. Since there was no HR, I was unable to report or mediate concerns I had to an unbiased party. Everything went through the ED, Nadia and she was the problem. Nadia micro-manages like crazy and you can only do things her way for the most part. There was a lot of unethical occurrences that happened to "produce" number of young adult participants to keep funding. Majority of the young adults that we served was not provided the services they were entitled to. Nothing was consistent in the environment with rules changing on a weekly basis and that's not an exaggeration. The worst of it all is that I was sabotaged by Nadia because she wrongfully hired me for a position that required a licensed social worker (I was not aware until 2 months later). Knowing that I did not have a social work license she hired me anyway and when our government contractor became aware of my license status (this was also around auditing time), Nadia took it among herself to push me out to cover her wrong doing. She made the work environment more than uncomfortable and stressful. She ridiculed my work ethic regardless of the evidence I built up to show I was meeting expectations. She tried to pressure me to quit so I would not be eligible for unemployment. She did this by demoting my position and cutting my salary by $20,000 and informed me it went into effect the same day I was told. A day after being told that I was given an ultimatum to accept the demotion and pay cut or voluntarily resign. Mind you I started my position with another girl who shared the same title as me and job responsibilities. She did not receive any of the negativity or pressures I did because she WAS a licensed social worker. I am never one to bash a company or person, but I would hate to see anyone ever end up in the same or similar position that I was in if they don't have to. There are many organizations in DC that does tremendous work for youth and young adults but not at this agency with higher management. After my experience 3 other staff resigned around the same time.
