Pros
Good local teams, willing to help each other, usually driven by those passionate and knowledgeable about the market research industry and the craft required to get good results to clients. Pockets of passion via acquired companies, where intelligence and insight was respected.
Cons
Leadership in Australia by someone who does not know anything about how to do research to a high quality level. This means that market signals are missed and opportunities to grow, expand and collaborate are lost. This is frustrating for staff. Recent redundancies have been incredibly poorly managed, with stock standard rationale rolled out, despite incredibly good team performance in some instances. Some global leaders display incredibly unprofessional behaviour, shouting in meetings, ignoring requests for assistance and actively alienating individuals. The culture at the top is terrible, and bureaucracy stifles creativity and free thought.
