Pros

Everyone is appreciated. The San Francisco office deals with projects and development, while the El Portal (Yosemite) office deals with programs (retail, publishing, theatre, outdoor adventures). There are many retail seasonal jobs at the various Yosemite Conservancy stores throughout the park. The typical season for retail is from April 1st through October 31st. Some jobs are full time, some part time. Management is very supportive. Team cooperation with other staff and with the park rangers is critical to one's success. A knowledge of Yosemite activities and services is helpful in all the stores, and necessary in the outlying stores. A dedication to the mission of the Conservancy is a must. There are also many volunteer opportunities, for those wishing to spend shorter times in the park or to use volunteerism as a stepping stone to employment. There are excellent discounts for Conservancy store products as well as discounts in many of the concessionaire's stores and restaurants.

Cons

You need to live in the area and commute into the park.
