Pros

- Didn’t ask for a statement or CV, which in all honesty, is a little sketchy. - Interview process was fairly simple. - Met some genuinely lovely people.

Cons

- The pay is not worth it. The firm falsely advertise a ‘competitive salary’ with “benefits” in place that are supposedly there to make up for the £7.20/hour. I.e. you’ll be used as cheap labour. - The training is horrible and impractical, especially with it being online. I was not prepared for tutoring at all, and was given hardly any help to support the transition from Sixth Form to Work life. - Chances are that you’ll work in a secondary school environment and the kids can be horrible. The pupils will likely see you more as a student than a teacher, making it 10x harder to stick the code of conduct delegated by the firm. - Tiring job that can sometimes get lonely if you’re allocated to a school and are working alone. - 4 month notice is terrible. They justify it by mentioning how important it is to stick with the kids throughout the year, chances are they’re just using that as an excuse to profit off you for as long as possible. Overall, A disgusting sleazy corporation that traps teenagers, making them work at the same level as an assistant teacher but for just above minimum wage. I am genuinely under the impression that most of the reviews on this page were written by staff, because I preferred McDonalds to this.
