Pros

Exposure to real client work

Cons

* Lack of mentorship and structured feedback * High-pressure environment for interns * Poor communication from leadership * Unsupportive and, at times, discouraging work culture I worked as a Design Intern at Yellow Creative Ad Agency as part of my college graduation project, and unfortunately, my experience was highly stressful and lacked the basic support expected from an internship. One of the key issues was the absence of structured mentorship. As interns, we expected at least occasional one-on-one feedback sessions to discuss our work, identify areas of improvement, and receive guidance. However, this was missing throughout my tenure. Instead, the work environment relied heavily on pressure tactics. I was placed on a “review period” multiple times, with repeated warnings of potential removal within a week if performance didn’t improve. Given that this internship was tied to my academic graduation requirements, this created extreme anxiety and made the work environment feel unstable and unsafe. The leadership style, particularly from senior team members, came across as dismissive and at times unprofessional. Feedback was often not constructive, and the overall culture did not feel inclusive or encouraging—especially for freshers who are there to learn. I also observed that multiple interns faced similar challenges during the same period, including one intern being asked to leave mid-project, which can significantly impact academic progress.
