YCS Response

Over the past several years, YCS has steadily addressed employees' concerns for increased pay and benefits. The agency has given out over $1.25 M in performance-based bonuses to over 50 % of full-time employees in the past year and has increased direct care pay an average of 15%. A 403B match has been instituted and new employees are eligible to enroll on the first day of hire. Incentives have also been put in place for employees to earn quarterly stipends for those who have taken on additional responsibilities and weekend staff earns additional pay. YCS has also not raised the cost of medical insurance for employees despite the rising costs to the agency. These are just a few examples of how YCS is working to meet the needs of its employees. As the agency thrives more financial initiatives will be made available.

Pros

Flexible, great program supervisor, opportunities to gain experience, opportunities to learn about child development.

Cons

No yearly raises, no bonuses, doesn’t pay a living wage. No room for growth within program. Can lead to burn out if not balanced well with personal life.
