Pros

Fast-paced environment that allows employees to develop multitasking and problem-solving skills.

Cons

Concerns around review manipulation, where employees may feel encouraged or pressured to post overly positive reviews that do not accurately reflect their real workplace experiences. This can create a disconnect between public perception and internal reality. Instances that may feel like coercion, where employees feel obligated to comply with requests related to public reviews or feedback rather than providing honest opinions. Reputation management practices sometimes appear to prioritize maintaining a positive public image over addressing internal concerns raised by employees. Situations that resemble astroturfing, where positive reviews may be pushed to create the impression of strong employee satisfaction even when experiences may vary. Some employees may perceive elements of workplace intimidation, where declining certain requests or sharing honest feedback could feel uncomfortable or potentially discouraged.

Pros

What makes XO different than most big corporations where you have to jump through hoops and red tape is that they genuinely care about building relationships, finding the best talent, innovation, and creativity. The company's values aligned with mine right off the bat, and they genuinely care about people and their growth. I've never known a CEO and operations team being so hands on, down to earth, and accessible. When challenges arise, management is always open to hearing feedback and making swift changes. There is always a positive outlook, and fun is welcomed!

Cons

On the other side of the same coin, not being a huge corporation means we are in a space of so much growth and exploration that we don't always have the exact systems in place to sustain it yet. You may have to wear many hats in your role. You often must live in the uncertainty and unknown as processes and new clients come on board and for some, this is not easy or ideal because they want a clear career path. But it means we get to be creative in figuring it out!
