Pros

I was offered a good wage.

Cons

The One week I was there I struggled to get registered with Paychex employee payroll registration. I was scolded for trying to complete registration, the owner assumed Not asking anything. He assumed I was doing nothing while I was registering to employee payroll. In fact I was working on a troubled server, and while commands were running I did enrollment process. I got scolded for reaching out to paychex when I could Not complete payroll enrollment. My employee ID for whatever reason was denied. Out of respect I let the owner know I was having trouble enrolling with paychexs, he was upset I did this saying I went around him. The fact Is I did this in an effort to get help by paychex, so He would Not Have To Be Bothered By This Issue. I told him this and it made No difference to him. He told me go back to work, that he would take care of this. So I emailed him screen shots of the invalid ID messages when I tried to finish enrollment. Well Monday the 22nd of Feb. 2021 rolled around, my immediate supervisor got a call from the owner asking WHY I HAD NOT COMPLETED PAYROLL ENROLLMENT? I showed my supervisor what I had been experiencing. Yelling which I heard clearly asked why just now is he finding out about my not being able to log in? More upset voice raising at my supervisor who was never a part of my and the owners conversation. St this point I gathered my personal belongings. I told my supervisor I did everything that the owner told me, and that He Said He Would Take Care Of this logging in problem. Later that day I received an email from the owner stating that I was at fault for Not Following instructions. I can't finish something if I cannot move forward. I wrote a cautionary comment at Xonicwaves Facebook Site. To future candidates considering to apply at Xonicwave as respectfully as I could. The minute I posted it, my cell rang it was the owner. I was on another call being interviewed for employment placement. I let the owners call go to voice message. The owner said My post was unfair and unjustified. Thinking this over a couple of days. I came to glass door and saw the many unhappy comments from past employees. So I edited My post to Xonicwaves Facebook site adding the reviews link to the end of my initial comments.

Pros

The best part of working at Xonicwave is that you are given autonomy, the freedom to do things without a large amount supervision, and you can work from home often when you're not on a large project. Since it's a consulting firm, you're working somewhere different every day on a week rotation. The clients are generally pretty cool, but the distrust and disconnect because you are an outsider is fairly difficult to overcome.

Cons

Management is extremely hot tempered. Prepared to be yelled at every day. The flip side is that management is also extremely accurate. It gives me a little comfort to know that I have that much experience backing me and looking out for the long term, but the yelling gets tiring. Also, the pay sucks. It's not the fault of management, the savings are passed to the client, which is the whole idea of the business model. You can recover that with referral fees for bringing on new clients, but that's not an easy feat, especially when you're focused so heavily on tech support.
