Pros

Free snacks in the office and monthly care packages.

Cons

I had high hopes when I first started working here, but my experience quickly turned sour due to their archaic and highly controlling design team manager micromanaging every aspect of the work, down to the tiniest, most insignificant detail. Creativity and innovation were stifled and any attempt to introduce modern design trends or fresh ideas was immediately shut down. It felt like working in the past, with rigid processes that were more about control than collaboration. Instead of empowering the team, management would hover over every task, constantly changing things for the sake of asserting dominance, rather than trusting the team’s expertise. This resulted in unnecessary revisions and a work environment that was more about pleasing one person’s outdated vision than delivering high-quality results for clients. In addition, there are no opportunities for career growth, with employees being significantly underpaid and receiving little to no recognition or appreciation for their contributions. Overall, if you're looking for a forward-thinking, collaborative agency, I would recommend steering clear of this one. The toxic micromanagement culture makes it nearly impossible to get anything done efficiently or creatively.

Pros

First class creativity and digital nous with some serious web dev talent. Felt supported although did have to work long hours sometimes just like any other job.

Cons

Never felt I really fitted in but that's not necessarily a reflection of Xigen, it could be a case of 'It's not you, it's me'.

Pros

Learned a lot from the industry. Xigen provides a good product offering

Cons

The company is what some would call a "dinosaur in the industry" Xigen is very set in their old ways with no room for growth. Some staff are really helpful, whilst management is toxic, with a micro-managing approach. They make huge promises only to turn around and make one feel belittled with no leg to stand on. No career opportunities or growth available with ever-changing KPI's that provide an abundance of insecurities. Management is misogynistic and deaf to any feedback that would help the company succeed and grow. Micro-management also caused a lack of work-life balance as one feels obligated to stay glued to your laptop at all times. This could be different if one didn't feel the urge to do clock-watching just to get another working day over. Management doesn't provide any room for sales people to close deals themselves as they don't provide any training, opportunity or guidance on pitching to clients. Business Development was an overrated title for cold calling without any opportunity for sales people to close deals themselves.
