Pros

The fact that I don't work here anymore.

Cons

My time at XcelPros was super brief, only a couple of months, and I haven't worked at the company for a while now either, but like all the other former employees leaving negative reviews I needed to post my experience at this company as well. First, management is horrible (and that's honestly giving them a compliment), they are in way over their heads and are the worst communicators I have ever seen. I have never seen another human being say "I will arrive in 15 minutes" and then proceed to show up 7 hours later. This is a common occurrence, they have no respect for others schedules but expect others to not get upset with them when they pull this stunt multiple times a day. To further expand on this, when I went in for my second interview the owner was 45 minutes late to meet with me! Second, the hours some people are expected to work is absurd, yet others at the company get preferable treatment and can pull no calls no shows for multiple weeks at a time without any sort of consequence or punishment. I get the need to put in extra hours, that’s just how the technology industry is, but to make individuals work 8+ hours on both Saturday and Sunday, 14+ hours Monday – Friday, and holiday’s is a little ridiculous. They laud themselves for having a no politics office environment but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Also, I hope you like working out of someone’s apartment as the office is smaller than my two-bedroom apartment. Everyone shares an office and there are barely any windows in the place. I could talk endlessly on why this company is pure evil, but it won’t do any good as XcelPros won’t ever change their ways. All of you should be ashamed of yourselves for how you treat your employees. It’s honestly sad, depressing, and most importantly pathetic on how you all think it’s alright to treat others and I hope by some miracle you all do some serious self-reflecting. Everyone left the company for a reason and these negative reviews are not just some fabricated non-sense.

Hi There, Thank you for your review! This must have been really hard on you to think through everything you experienced with us. I want to make sure I communicate what I have to say to your understanding, so pardon my mistakes/ vocabulary problems/ sentence formation issues if there are any as I am not American born and neither was I raised here, so I may have mixed jargon at times. I do want to add that my clients find my communication pretty decent and professional. Firstly let me apologize for the delay in my reply. I was involved in a major go live and we are currently stabilizing and reaching steady state and hence I was able to take the opportunity to respond to you as I wanted to personally respond to you. I am glad that you got the opportunity to express yourself freely on a public platform. Regarding our office, it is a typical suburban office and most of our Pharma, Chemical, Hitech, insurance, Food & consumer goods, Automotive and other clients who have been to our office mentioned that for a suburban office we have a pretty neat looking one. Granted we are no 1871 out of Chicago downtown but our intention was to be in the suburbs in all 3 cities we have offices at. Every private office inside very decently fits 2 people but the expectation is that everyone sits outside in the large area to collaborate. That may have been a difference in style. Secondly this was your first job and we probably had an unreasonable expectation of you on how to align with your bosses. Regarding training we always get everyone access to DLP which is the learning portal for training and when required send people to flow/ logic apps/ power apps/ PowerBi training. On top of this I do my best to give the team hands on training through use cases/ flow charts/ training documentation as I believe practical learning is the best. We may have unreasonably expected for people to pick up a tool after training and strengthen their knowledge with it and become a subject matter expert on their own. I had no choice but to be this way early in my career, so I apologize for the gap again in understanding. We also apologize to have you wait for 7 hours for us in the office at times, it is the nature of our business to serve clientele when they need us and sometimes round the clock especially during go lives. Since I am very hands on and I do handle multiple customers, I sometimes work 20 hours a day. But I never thought you were treating it as waiting, as you were given tasks to work on. That may have been a misunderstanding from our side. Anyone who may have gotten additional flexibility is so that they are able to balance their lives when they are attending customers sometimes during odd hours and international time zones. Through my career I personally worked 4 times as hard as my peers and have been through an enormous grind especially having moved from a different country and the only way I could keep up my work status was to work harder than everyone else. I know no other way other than the grind because that was what was instilled in me from my first boss. I realize that the generation is different and we need to adjust to your style. For us it would have been just easy not to hire a fresh graduate and train them but since we came from a time with major recessions and saw how hard it was for fresh college graduates to get a job, we decided to help as many as possible in that front. For now we have temporarily put college hires on hold until we understand how to structure ourselves and work with college hires. We are very happy that you were able to showcase your experience at Xcelpros to get another job, I find that the least help that we could do from our-side especially after such a horrible experience you had with us. Good luck with your career and glad to know that your journey started with Xcelpros. If possible look at this as your first learning into professional life and choose a company that matches your style. Whatever brand you associate yourself with will be with you for posterity and unknowingly you become part of it too so try your best to find the good in everything you do.

Pros

My coworkers here were great. Couldn't say enough good things about them.

Cons

The management was not good. Lifespan of an employee was very short. The pay was not competitive. While I worked there I was asked to review on the company on GlassDoor and give a good review which I felt was very unprofessional.
