Pros
There were no redeeming qualities to this "airline".
Cons
Oh where to start...I spent years babysitting this airline, trying to keep them in some sort of reasonable compliance disposition. XTRA kicked and screamed the entire way. In my time there it changed ownership, grew to 11 aircraft, blew through money, materials and personnel with breathtaking ease, shrank down to one aircraft and changed ownership again. The only constant was incompetence. The senior management I worked with continuously struggled with basic concepts of aviation safety and compliance. It was often impossible to determine whether it was willful incompetence or they simply had no clue what they were doing. Management typically didn't know the procedures plainly spelled out in their manuals or simply elected to ignore them. It was not unusual for a senior member of management to ignore emails regarding compliance issues or deny receiving them. They now intend to engage in scheduled service if they can ever get an aircraft on their certificate. My advice: Run, don't walk, run from XTRA Airways (or whatever they intend to call themselves in the future).
