Pros

I have learned and grown so much throughout my tenure at XPO.

Cons

I am deeply grateful for the invaluable experience I gained while working at XPO in the communications department. However, I must share my concern regarding the current state of the communications team, which has deviated from the company's founding principles of unity, acceptance, and hard work which Brad instilled. The team is facing significant challenges stemming from recent leadership changes characterized by an overbearing and impractical approach. This shift has created an unfortunate divide between longstanding and new team members, fostering a toxic work environment with frequent complaints from both sides. Many members complain about lack of promotions, but their lack of professionalism is the obvious reason for their failure. Previously, the team operated effectively and harmoniously when provided with the necessary resources and when all functions were equally valued. However, a shift in priorities toward prioritizing the PR department has further exacerbated the toxicity within the department, resulting in a neglect of other crucial functions and contributing to the adverse atmosphere. Specifically, the current VP's leadership style involves wanting to control all areas of comms and disregarding differing opinions, leading to strained relationships with team members. Additionally, the leader of the department lacks organization and crowd sources all decisions, which has caused additional issues on the team. Most members on the team are also extremely fake and their behavior shows that they don’t want the team to get better, instead they want to continue the cycle of toxicity to further their agenda. The absence of accountability is pervasive, as some team members take credit for others' work and fail to assume ownership of their projects. This unfortunate dynamic, coupled with an overwhelming workload due to the lack of clear direction and strategy, has left the team demoralized and overburdened. In light of these challenges, it has become evident to me that a comprehensive culture reset, new leadership, clearly defined job titles, and a redistribution of responsibilities are essential for the team's recovery. Unfortunately, it became clear to me that none of these things are on the horizon. It is disheartening to witness the transformation of a once remarkable company into its current state.

Pros

I have enjoyed my time with XPO and appreciate the opportunities the company has provided for both personal and professional growth. The team environment is supportive, and I've had the chance to build strong relationships with coworkers and customers over the years. One of the things I value most is that hard work and dedication are recognized. Every day brings new challenges, which keeps the job interesting and allows me to continue learning. Leadership encourages employees to find solutions and work together to provide excellent customer service. Like any large company, there are busy periods and opportunities for improvement, but overall, XPO offers a solid career path, competitive benefits, and the chance to make a real impact. If you're someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is willing to put in the effort, XPO can be a rewarding place to build a career.

Cons

The transportation industry is constantly changing, so employees need to be adaptable and able to handle shifting priorities. Workloads can be demanding at times, but the teamwork and customer relationships make it rewarding
