Pros
Incredibly bright and talented staff. While somewhat lofty, the mission statement is inspiring and you are naturally dedicated to advising and supporting countries overcome their development challenges. The agenda is so diverse - from macro-economics and international finance to infrastructure to human development to climate change, etc. you work on a wide array of assignments and programs in the course of your career.
Cons
Constant budget challenges and seemingly never-ending pressure from the Board to do more with less and less. The is a tendency to take on too many new initiatives without dropping anything - leading to over-programming and over-stretching of resources (human and financial).
