Pros

Small Company, Regular social events, Company celebrates anniversaries and birthdays, Snacks and drinks (which could also be a con)

Cons

Toxic work environment promoted by engineering management. Excellence is expected but not rewarded. Engineers work in silos (little to no collaboration). Technical requirements (tickets) are written by project managers and are almost never clear - engineers are expected to be mind readers and are insulted if they aren't. No mentoring of any kind from management, and peers are reprimanded for spending time helping junior engineers. Speed is rewarded over quality (tech debt increases exponentially). The only way to get a raise is to threaten to leave.

Pros

-Great culture: lots of young, smart, and driven employees who work hard but like to have fun. We have foosball games every day at 5pm, stocked kitchens, parties every month for birthdays and anniversaries, and a fun committee that plans both formal and informal events for employees every quarter. Senior management is super accessible and willing to listen to ideas from all employees. We also have an unlimited vacation policy and a flexible environment where you are given a lot of freedom as long as you get your work done. -Lots of opportunity: The company is in high growth mode, and given that it's small, anyone who rolls up their sleeves and jumps into the mix can make a huge difference very quickly. -Location: We're located on the 39th floor of the Empire State Building in the heart of New York City, and our office is surrounded with windows so we can enjoy the views. The building just got an amazing gym downstairs that's only $40/month.

Cons

-Because it's a small company, there is not necessarily a formal career path for those who might be used to that at a larger company. You have to be a self-starter who is okay taking risks and putting yourself out there in order to get promoted, which might not be for everyone. -The industry we work in can be a little bit slow and not super exciting.
