Pros

The Mission: You’re working on genuinely important problems regarding global supply chains and geopolitical risk. The product feels necessary, not just "nice to have" for the folks we are selling to. Product market fit is there. Team: strong "no jerks" policy. The team is highly collaborative and incentivized to win together. Leadership is decisive; if someone isn't pulling their weight or is toxic to the culture, they don’t stick around. Real Autonomy: There is zero red tape. If you’re a self-starter who sees a gap, you’re empowered to fill it. You can genuinely see your "fingerprints" across the company’s trajectory if you’re willing to put in the work. Data Quality: The bar for what we ship is incredibly high. In this space, accuracy is everything and has real world consequences, and our data is widely considered the best in the space because of the rigorous review process. Competitive Comp: They pay for performance. If you are a top-tier contributor, the compensation reflects that.

Cons

Pace: Like any high-growth startup, it can be intense. It’s a high-output environment where the expectations match the stakes of the work. Expectations are high, and "slow days" are rare. Highly Specialized Subject Matter: The work is deeply academic and specific. We deal with the complexities of data intelligence and China-US relations—it’s dense, nuanced, and can be a steep learning curve. If you aren’t naturally curious about the geopolitical space, the day-to-day could feel like a grind. Scaling "Process Debt": We are very much in the "building the plane while flying it" phase. Documentation can be thin, and as we grow, the cross-functional communication between Sales, Product, and Research is still a work in progress. You have to be comfortable with a bit of ambiguity and be willing to hunt down the info you need.
