The agency where $25 gift card at Thanksgiving counts as a year end bonus - Talent Acquisition Specialist Winston Resources Employee Review

Pros

Fairly easy to get hired. Steady Paycheck and Transitchek offered. Good work/life balance. Convenient location. Some of the people there are pretty nice and friendly. Free bagels and donuts. Chill and relaxed office atmosphere.

Cons

Just about everything else: The contract healthcare staffing division is pretty much your typical, high turnover, chop shop agency, but worse considering you get no commission, no growth and promotion into senior positions or management, no performance incentives or bonuses, and a whole lot of turnover, mostly firings. Another review is right that new hires on that side barely last three months at the least, and it's because they’re barely trained, and are not properly onboarded and incentivized. They just want warm bodies to hit the phones, make placements, do the compliance, and nothing else. The perm and sales side are a little more relaxed, better paying with good commissions, and where one should go instead, but the biggest con on is that there are some really, mean, nasty, unfriendly, unprofessional people on that side. That because they’ve been working there for years and years, they are protected and are free to do what they please without any repercussions. As a result, you get and see a lot of conflicts and outright rudeness and nastiness by some of them that get overlooked and ignored by management. In general, Winston is a go-nowhere kind of place where you work really hard and long and get nothing but crumbs back, or like I said, a $25 gift card, or maybe get lucky enough to win $100 bucks during the raffle at the one company event they do a year. I don’t even want to get started on the tech and systems, which are old, dated, and broken, resulting in constant issues and problems getting contractors onboarded and paid properly and on time. Or how nothing interesting, fun, or unique happens there because they never do it. Or how so many people there don't get along with each other because they don't encourage it. If you’re desperate for something or are looking to pad your resume and LinkedIn, great. But if you want to make some serious money, move into management, which will never happen because the family that runs the company doesn't want to share it, or actually have a 401k (which Winston doesn’t offer), or decent benefits and perks that they contribute to, Winston doesn't do that either and makes you pay the high premiums, then do your time here, make some placements, and then move on like so many people have in the past few years here. There is nothing for your recruiting or HR career at Winston.

Some of the people you work with can be difficult and the pay can be low if you’re not in a clinical role.
