Pros

Retirement plan, solely from a customer's perspective, Winco is a great grocery store with great prices

Cons

Can't go outside for a smoke on your 10 minute break. Can only go outside during your lunch. Makes me feel like a caged animal or as if I'm in elementary school again. Strict policies, that "employee owners" don't seem to have a say in. Strict point system that can easily get you fired. Very hard physical labor/heavy lifting, they expect A LOT out of even the new employees, and for what? 20 cents above minimum wage??! Give me a break. We deserve 13-15 bucks an hour at least for this job (variety/freight stocker) they also abide by federal laws, so no consumption of marijuana in your free time. (random drug testing) even if you're a medical marijuana card holder. I'm disgusted that a GROCERY STORE has the nerve to discriminate someone over how they treat their medical condition. But it's perfectly fine to have prescription opioids in your system and drink alcohol on your time off. If you're smart at all, you know that alcohol and prescription pills cause most deaths in the U.S.

Pros

Great co workers, upbeat, fast paced (makes the time fly by), excellent pay, good work/life balance and the employee insurance package is outstanding

Cons

The point system is notoriously strict. You won’t start at 40 hours per week - hours may vary. Breaks are only ten minutes, barely enough time for a bathroom break
