Starting a career while dodging office politics - Anonymous employee Willamette Week Employee Review

Pros

Low-key without sacrificing a fast pace, WW provides an "in" to so many industries: writers, salespeople, fundraisers and designers. Lots of free perks are delivered to the office, and often you can get access to the many events for free or cheap. Benefits are decent.

Cons

Unfortunately, "in" is all you're going to go, generally falling deeper down the rabbit hole until your career moves elsewhere. There are some very serious inter-departmental tensions, which have led to firings and general pettiness. There is virtually no chance at a raise, and wages have remained stagnant for over a decade, inflation be damned.
