Wilcox Financial has a wide range of connections through out the country. They run a thriving business and have been doing it for years.

They are extremely old school. They have a lousy 401(k) match, although they preach to their clients how important that is. New ideas are not encouraged or welcomed. Mike's favorite saying is "We don't have team meetings because they don't produce money." Bottom line is that they do not value their employees like their clients.

They run a great business and have a team of very successful advisors. There is so much potential if management would invest the time to improve their processes, culture, and compensation structure. The advisors are nice people and good bosses, but they are poor managers of their staff.

Employees are underpaid for the amount of work they are asked to do. Management is very old school, and set in their ways. This results in very inefficient processes and frustration for the support staff. There is very little structure or guidance, and no training program to speak of. The firm has been extremely successful for a very long time, and this leads to advisors that come across as pompous and narcissistic . They say the right things, but their actions lead to a much different culture than they portray.
