Pros

I spent a little under two years with WhoCo and was very sad to say goodbye. The people: WhoCo is made up of a uniquely humble, supportive, kind, intelligent, and hilarious collection of humans. This, I think, is owed to a number of factors – a top-down effect from leadership, a thoughtful, deliberate hiring process, and a culture of support and concern for one another that is emphasized, individually internalized, and ultimately contagious.
 The work:
Engineers are encouraged to really own their work, which is awesome. There are plenty of opportunities to work on exciting projects and expand your skillset, and management is very accommodating to personal interests. Very open-minded/growth-oriented culture – questions are encouraged.
As a startup, the work is relatively fast-paced, however WhoCo is anything but a pressure cooker. The company truly cares about taking care of its employees and emphasizes work-life balance. Everything else:
PTO is unlimited and consistently encouraged. We also got a winter vacay around the holidays, which was really nice. The work is fully remote, which is great for a lot of people. I enjoyed it at first, but eventually realized it wasn’t right for me at this point in my life/career (early), which is why I left. However, WhoCo really excels at keeping folks connected in a remote environment with regular Zoom happy hours, game nights, quarterly onsites that are a ton of fun (e.g. archery tag, beach days, lunch/drinks/games/tarot card readings at a swanky Malibu resort), and a bunch of other activities.

Cons

As mentioned above, the only con is a subjective one: the work is fully remote. For many, this is a pro.
