Pros

Admiring some nice artwork, you get to speak to some pleasant people at the infrequent art exhibitions

Cons

Working for the company was a truly miserable experience and a period I look back at being the worst time of my life. I was so excited about the role initially due to my love of art. Little did I know that having an interest or knowledge of artwork is of no relevance to this job. I've read all of the other reviews on here and I think most people can see which ones were written by real people and which were faked by HR, but it's true that the senior management do not care about you and will have no hesitation in kicking you when you're down and treating you like dirt. I will never forget the time I went to "art academy" in my first month and was told to sell a hideous print of a painting to the CEO. I'd never felt so belittled in my life in the way I was spoken to, and saw 2 other people sacked the next day for not doing it well enough. The senior management are horrible people and will put constant pressure on all staff to hit ridiculously unachievable sales targets, even if you go on holiday for 2 weeks you are still expected to hit the same monthly target and if you are ever I'll you will receive no pay. You are expected to dedicate your life to this job and will be offer next to nothing in return. I'd rather clean toilets than work here again. If I can help one person make a decision against joining this toxic organisation then my job is done, my advice to anyone reading - PLEASE DO NOT WORK HERE!

Pros

I worked at Whitewall galleries for 4 years, in that time I had exceptional mentors, and a amazing team. This is a company that cares about their employees and there is unlimited opportunity for growth, should you wish to move into different avenues within the company. They care about their clients and go over and beyond to make their staff happy. In my experience it is the individuals who come in with catty bad attitudes that turn over quickly as that type of mentality is not tolerated. Hard work is 100% expected but you are given time to develop your skills and frequent training and feedback is offered.

Cons

Starting pay is slightly low but a great commission structure compensates that straightway. Generous raises are given once you put in your time as they value hard working staff.

Pros

Nice environment to work in in visually, no uniform and nice clients

Cons

High sales targets, slightly odd head office culture with a tendency to push rather than encourage. Limited editions not really limited editions ie continuous slightly altered runs. I personally had a conscience crisis selling these - good for tough nuts with no ethics
