Pros

Stability. Conservative Culture. Family Owned. Texas Treasure. Location. Opportunity.

Cons

"Orange Folders" as they are called need to be routed and approved by every applicable person in several departments when there are obviously better methods to do this. It can take forever to get an answer on if you can move forward or stop and try again with projects and requests. Pay is slightly below average, even for San Antonio. IT coordinator making $41K which US average is over $51K (per Robert Half salary guide 2013). Leadership, in some departments, is not merit based but either "you're the only one left" scenario or some sort of favoritism. So you don't always see "aces in their places." Politics, politics, politics. I haven't had to deal with this much politics outside of election season and other jobs that you knew the politics would be bad, like contracting workers in an out sourced call center.
