Pros

The company tries to be flexible on the work and home life balance part. If an employee needs a little flexibility, generally Westec will work with you. The concept of the service they provide is a good one.

Cons

Where to start? As noted in another review, all employees lost 5% of their pay and a matching 401K contribution when the economy went bad. To date, none of those have ever been fully or even partially restored. Yet the employees are told how well the company is doing, how Westec is the only company making a profit in the sector, and we should all be proud of that. Customer service is numbers driven, not results driven. It is not uncommon for cases to be closed without being properly resolved just to keep the numbers down. The financial software is burdensome and bills are slow to get paid, while customers get late and inaccurate invoices. The overall morale seems low these days. Long time employees complain about not seeing a pay raise in years. Even though management says the door is always open, there is no transparency about changes or company direction. Changes sometimes take place with no notice or reasons, and employees just find out about it after the fact. There is no formal job review process in place, unless you get coached or written up, nor is there even any sort of an organization chart. Managers won't go the extra mile to back up their employees. Customers can demand just about anything from Westec and Westec will bend over backwards to meet those demands regardless of what it means to the company or the employees.

Pros

Nice folks to work with, easy job

Cons

Sales support can be overwhelming if you don't manage expectations, even if you are in a position that is not related to sales.

Pros

The company was very lenient in letting employees take off for family emergencies, which is extremely rare in corporate America.

Cons

The supervisors were unqualified (they lacked experience and competency). Being the face for poor customer service and getting cursed out by clients who had 45 minute wait times was no fun. Of course this was all due to the company being poor fiscal managers, which resulted in roughly eight people handling technical issues. In addition to being under-staffed, they had extremely poor pay considering the work load. HR will not verify employment or return the calls of employers seeking to verify their former employees work history. Small company scandal and drama.
