Pros
I have worked with WPOG for several years after leaving a larger nationwide employer. I was immediately impressed with the clinics (state of the art equipment, digital phoropters, optomap in every location). Store managers are helpful and knowledgeable, and are on the floor helping both the OD and the staff to keep things running smoothly. Each doctor always has a technician who works alongside the OD to check patients in, pretest, and help the OD with necessary daily tasks. The quality of the technicians and on-staff Opticians are the best I have worked with in my career. Regional management is always helpful with scheduling work days and locations. I feel valued, appreciated, and very much a part of a team with a common mission to provide great patient care as well as to deliver high quality materials (frames, lenses, and contact lenses). There are many opportunities to travel to national meetings both for team building as well as to earn CE. Bi-monthly team calls allow all of the ODs to interact, present interesting cases, and to hear speakers educate us on the latest contact lenses, therapeutic treatments, and ways to elevate our practice to our patients and customers. Group chats allow us to ask our colleagues questions and to interact in real time which is a huge benefit. I would encourage a new or a seasoned OD to consider employment with WPOG.
