Pros

-The team: it's a privilege to be able to work with a group of extremely talented, dedicated, fun and interesting people. Working with my colleagues is a truly fun and rewarding experience. -The culture: Since day one I have been consistently impressed with Tatch's focus on company culture, which easily outperforms efforts that I've experienced at much larger companies in both its sincerity and effect. Despite the ongoing pandemic and remote working situation, they have done a fantastic job of cultivating a workplace that is open, friendly, encouraging and supportive both professionally and personally. -Opportunity: Being such a small company, there is ample room for growth. Management actively encourages employees to seize any opportunity in which they have expressed interest while at the same time making sure to provide plenty of opportunity in line with individual interests and/or career development goals. -Leadership: Company leadership has a clear goal in mind, and fully understands that their people are their most precious asset in reaching that goal. Their drive, passion and enthusiasm are infectious, and the maturity with which they run the company is admirable. This gives me good confidence in the future of the company.

Cons

Nothing that isn't par for the course in an early stage company and isn't easily offset by the pros. For example, the range of benefits is good, though they tend to be a bit pricier than equivalent offerings at larger companies.

Pros

- Outstanding Leadership: Amir has a sharp scientific mind and the empathy needed to create a game-changing product to help those with sleep challenges. He’s mission-driven and deeply understands the problem that Tatch is tackling. I greatly enjoyed working with him over the course of my internship! - Talented core team: The R&D team brings years of experience in healthcare & technology. I experienced a warm culture of collaboration and feedback. Each team member was always generous and willing to share with me his/her technical expertise so that I could perform most effectively in my PM role. Everyone is invested in your success and vice versa. - Autonomy & Impact: There is no shortage of opportunities for ownership at Tatch. I was given plenty of room to shape my research project and saw how it directly contributed to the product development process. - High standards: When it comes to creating a product that addresses the medical needs of individuals, every team member MUST adopt an extremely high standard for their work because it will directly affect a user’s health and well-being. The team does a great job of screening candidates who care about excellence and I believe it sets them up for success in the long-run.

Cons

- Growing pains: Like many early-stage companies, the bottlenecks to growth are often people. It may take longer than expected to hire and execute, but I believe this experience is similar at other startups. - Limited Training: Again, I would say this con is probably normal for startups. The learning comes fast and furious. There is no way you will know everything you need to know when building a company, so for all future candidates, keep in mind these expectations and bring a growth mindset. The journey will be incredibly rewarding!
