Let’s start from the beginning. After I got hired for this job, they struggled to verify I had a college degree despite me sending over transcripts which showed I had completed school in 2021. You don’t even need a college degree for this job so they requested I produce a picture of my high school diploma. I lived in a different state than my parents at the time so I could not produce my degree or my diploma. This caused my employment to be delayed 5 weeks. I had already left my other job thinking I was starting this one. I ended up calling my college and the HR department on three way because I was so upset that what should have been a simple 5 minute verification was taking weeks. The lady I was on the phone with from HR had an attitude with me and my school because she couldn’t read a transcript or call them herself to verify I was a 2021 graduate. This process took 5 minutes thanks to me doing it but I was told told I had to start late because I already missed 3 days of training and couldn’t catch up. (When I started training we took a whole week to even setup the computers so I don’t know how I couldn’t have caught up). This job has very unrealistic expectations for a work from home position. During training there is no time off. I was pregnant and was threatened with termination for needing time off for a doctor’s appointment. Why a company would think a grown adult with an outside life would be able to work 10 weeks with no time off I do not know. They are very entitled as if you don’t work from your own home. When I had my child I breastfed her. I thought because it was a work from home job I would just breastfed and or pump at my own leisure. However, this led to me eventually being written up for not being on camera during a meeting. I told leadership I was breastfeeding/pumping during the meeting so I wouldn’t get in trouble for not being on camera but still got in trouble. They wrote me up but did accommodate me by giving me 30 minute breaks however, the write up stayed on my record for 6 months therefore I was not eligible to do anything growth wise. Everyone knows children cannot go to daycare when they are sick right? Well sometimes my daughter would be in the back of my phone calls crying from a distance and they would question why my child was in her own home. I never got any customer complaints over my daughter being in the back of my calls. In fact they would either ignore or talk about something children related. The only problem was with management always. I was told not to do anything that I couldn’t do if I was in an in office setting as the lady was walking on a treadmill talking to me via zoom. Is that something you can do in an office? I didn’t think so. There was also a time I had her in my lap during a meeting to which I was on camera for. The corner of her head was in the camera and they wrote me up for that as well saying no one should be around hearing personal information. Did I mention I just had the baby? I got written up again for not using all 3 of my monitors. They said I didn’t have to use them but they had to be plugged in. If I don’t have to use them why am I being written up for it? Another 6 month restriction for nothing. I never had any bad scores for my calls. I was in fact very good at my job. Management only picked with me over outside things that I personally feel like shouldn’t have mattered if I’m getting 100 percent on all my class and SQM reviews. However, as I previously stated, I got no recognition or reward for my hard work due to being written up. I was eventually let go and they did not tell me any benefit information. I had to call THEM only to learn your benefits end the day you are terminated so they did not tell me that me and my daughter were not covered for health insurance anymore. When I called to get a letter stating this they couldn’t even produce it because they had not done their part and put it in the system. I got the termination of benefit letter a week later. So, apply at your own risk. If it wasn’t so much micromanaging and entitlement this might have been a nice job. Fortunately, I had already been applying to other jobs since I knew management was trying to get me gone. My new job is very understanding and realistic.

You get BMC benefits. That's it, that's the only benefit but even those have been cut significantly.

If you’ve never experienced the Peter Principle in real life, I promise you, you will experience it here. Someone’s review from many years ago said that in 20+ years of professional experience, they had never worked in an environment in which so many people with no business supervising staff were given the responsibility of managing entire teams and I am here to tell you that that is a fact. Every manager in this company is completely incompetent. The most egregious example of their incompetence is that they had a VP level person running an entire department, representing themself as an RN, whose nursing license was expired for 3 years and the company had no idea until individual contributors reported it. Now, since they are wont to respond to reviews on here, I would like to get ahead of that now and ask those of you reading this to consider that in about 14 seconds, any of you could go to the state’s website or Nursys and find that this person’s nursing license expired years ago. I’ve never worked anywhere else that didn’t have a process in place to ensure that their professional staff kept their licenses up to date. This is a basic responsibility of running a healthcare business. They are also worse than a typical Peter Principle organization in that they continue to promote people beyond their level of incompetence. I watched an incompetent manager drive an entire team out twice over and the company’s response was to promote them. The culture is one of quiet retaliation and HR is completely useless. Finally, they are unethical. They are a supposed “not-for-profit” company but they subcontract for-profit third parties to deny necessary care. This is what your tax dollars are paying for. They don’t care about their staff nor the people they serve. They lost their accreditation and a contract for a major program in 2024 and for good reason. I won't be surprised if they lose several more contracts when the MassHealth contracts are up for renewal next year. BMC is a wonderful employer but do not be fooled, WellSense is not BMC. If you believe nothing else I say, believe this: you are not safe, psychologically or otherwise, at WellSense.
