Pros
The department management is good in grocery. Likely due to the turnover and that it’s the largest size of any in the store. Time goes by fast since you are moving and on your feet staying busy.
Cons
Culture and climate of Weis could be a lot better. Store management lies to you when you ask why your hours are cut and tell you they will give them back but don’t. Manager turnover is ridiculous - Weis likes to shuffle managers around for some reason which diminishes morale and makes for a bad climate and culture for workers but they have their reasons though I can’t think of what they’d be. No surveys or ways to give feedback. You wrote notes and text managers and try to talk to them and they ignore you. My store is on its 8th manager since Covid, one lasted 6 weeks then shipped out, and never told the store she was leaving. Hard to build social capital or prove yourself obviously. They hire more workers to beef up their numbers and get raises as store managers (chiefs and Indians principle) while permanently cutting hours of good workers indiscriminately. That’s like the worst thing you can for part-timers.
