Players Playing the Wrong Game - Associate Webull Financial Employee Review

Pros

The entity and the company itself have a "chance" to be a big player. Runs lean, catering in-office. The work can be engaging and seldom boring, but it can quickly slip into chaos. Pay can be competitive depending on the function, but the benefits are meh

Cons

Senior associates and leadership who helped build the foundation are leaving in droves, with many actively seeking other opportunities. This has created an overworked environment, and uneasy feeling among many. There is no work-life balance, and employees are expected to be available 24/7 for certain functions. Some departments have extremely high turnover, which should be traditionally low, due to leadership dysfunction. No remote (they treat it like an actual sin). Always adjusting functions and processes that could be better left alone.

Pros

Lots of Autonomy with work, management appreciates ideas, free food on Fridays.

Cons

Not much. Wish there was more shadowing and desk-relevant work.

Pros

The people - mostly gear towards the younger side which is refreshing. Also have a blend of senior leadership with lots of industry experience. It has a startup type of energy to it Your work feels impactful due to the small nature of the firm Free breakfast and lunch on Friday. Compensation is pretty decent (for myself at least, I hear this can vary across the firm pretty drastically). Rewarded well at the EOY Solid employ benefits like equity comp, discounted ESSP. Lots of upward mobility Management does value feedback, easy to voice your opinions to them. You get opportunity to have visibility to C-Suite level. Most people leave at 5PM, we do get in quite early tho Some really smart people that work here and are motivated to do the work. Also, lots of complacent people here makes it easier to rise to the top.

Cons

Lack of flexibility (no wfh) I feel management also has a tough time understanding the day-to-day operations and pain points of certain tasks. Certain aspects of management do not entirely seem to know or understand what is going on instead they focus more on things like if you're in office and at the mandatory 8AM meeting. LOTS OF OFFICE POLITICS. OPTICS REALLY IMPORTANT HERE. HR/Management do not go through an extensive vetting process when hiring. I believe this needs to be more thorough. My team has lots of turnover and hires that are complacent or unequipped to handle the tasks at hand. Worries if OOO for extended periods of time work will not get covered efficiently. A degree of micromanagement - if away from your desk for a prolonged period of time expect a message from your boss asking you if things are okay lol.
