Pros
40 hour weeks in an industry where that is highly unusual Relaxed environment with no dress code Friendly people Occasional lunches Decent salary The company is not without it's flaws, but the stuff about lying, cut-throat owners in the review titled "quirky" is from a disgruntled ex-employee and simply not true. The owners are honest and friendly like everyone else here.
Cons
Spaghetti code everywhere which can't be tested or refactored because of an inherently flawed custom-built versioning & deployment system. Because of this, all development takes several times as long as it should and is still low quality. CEO is over-involved dictating technical decisions without the necessary background. He also has a severe case of "not invented here" syndrome. CTO is under-involved and silos himself to work only on projects he finds interesting. The majority of developers which are hired do not do development! They are split between configuring the integration with our customers' software, bug fixing while dealing with angry customers, and project management. For those who do get to develop, it takes years to get up to speed with all the quirks of the proprietary systems, by which point the good ones leave. We have had several of our best developers leave this year. Salary is roughly average to slightly above average for the area, but other compensation is lacking. There is nothing in the way of bonuses or stock and only two weeks vacation.
