Pros

Weber Shandwick has a fantastic reputation with great clients. They are constantly in the running for awards of all types and attract very bright people. It is a great place for junior level staff to begin their careers, as it provides a wealth of information on various practices within the public relations field - from complex consumer campaigns to issues management for corporate clients, to preparing for action from the FDA for healthcare campaigns. All together, there are so many facets of Weber Shandwick that can teach any employee many new things on any given day. This is in part due to the wide variety of clients that it represents.

Cons

Weber Shandwick is a large agency that supports many large and demanding clients. There are very high expectations, and from time to time, long work hours may be expected in order to meet the needs of the client. For young professionals, this may be overwhelming if they have not had to work in an agency setting with deadlines are almost always tight, projects are complex, and you have many people to answer to. Also, because it is a public company, it ultimately answers to Interpublic Group. While this is generally not an issue, as Interpublic Group remains a great company to work for, it seems that employees get the short end of the stick on occassion.

Pros

Used to be an amazing place to work. Flat org structure. Lots of flexibility to jump into other roles. But the culture has changed since the acquisition. This review would’ve been a solid 4.5 before the acquisition, no I give it a 2.

Cons

Omnicom acquisition ruined the place. People are just disappearing with no explanation. Mass layoffs. Awful new leadership at Omnicom, though the Weber leadership tries their best to deal with the situation. Crap benefits from Omnicom.
