Pros

The physical environment is nice and the location is a great area to experience in Chicago.

Cons

The atmosphere is negative and tense. There is a sort of high school attitude of judgement and poor work ethic throughout. Though the company has been going through many changes, it continues to feel as if everyone wants the company to be something entirely different so there is always this very high tension felt with the higher up positions/employees. The management for each team here is practically non-existent. My personal team "leader" was far less experienced than myself as a junior designer and they did not support and work with me, but instead they were defensive, lazy and ultimately very uninspiring.

Pros

There were many cool people that I got to work with day to day, who gave out tons of positive vibes and created and amazing atmosphere. Further the office itself is really cool and stylish. On Friday we would have free office lunch catered. It was a fun time to get to know people you might not work with daily.

Cons

There were not many. I was let go during a round of company-wide downsizing. The biggest con may have been the misunderstanding the importance of company culture to productivity and happiness.

Hello, I agree that culture has an impact on productivity and happiness. We've been working on creating a great culture everywhere in the sgsco collective to ensure everyone feels like they are part of a great company. I’ve been impacted by corporate downsizing myself and know that it doesn’t feel great. Good luck and I hope you were able to find a new position that challenges you and helps advance your career. Thanks Gabriel, Communications.
