Pros

Ed, the barista, makes an excellent flat white.

Cons

- The office is filthy, basically a converted shed with no heating and few working toilets. We had portoloos outside last winter and the entire building smelt of sewage. We also had no heating during the same month we had a blizzard, but were not permitted to work from home. - At least one employee a week is just disappeared with no explanation or justification. Keeps everyone on their toes that they could be next. - All of the recent positive reviews here have been written by “HR”. -It’s the bullies and the sycophants who get promoted/paid a living wage. - Harassment is rife, especially at staff parties, but our “chief of staff” just pretends that it doesn’t happen. -Management are mostly inexperienced, incompetent and scared to leave, as they know that they’d be caught out in a serious company. This is probably why they use intimidation and fears of sudden job loss as a “motivational” tool.

Pros

the events and the people are great.

Cons

management is inexperienced. the company is in transition/growth mode and experiencing major growing pains. their track record of ending employee contracts abruptly without warning/reason/notice is insane. in the case of sales, they end all communication once you are out the door and don't pay out commissions owed (?!)

Pros

Struggling to find any, to be fair.

Cons

It's a boys club, and many of the propaganda spewed by the CEO is to use managers as tokens of diversity. Managers are ill-prepared, and will eventually push you out - no matter how well you perform. You will go far if you are a rule follower, but that's about it. The role is one of a call center - you are expected to take on 15-18 meetings a day for 20 minutes each only to be at the bottom of the company. Do not expect to be taken seriously if you are apart of the Startups team. Also, tenure in the company supersedes results.
