Cons
Totally abusive company to work for in many respects. 1. You are told that it's "all about you" and "we wouldn't be here without you" but in truth, the whole company and decision making practices are based on executive greed (they are also the owners). 2. Pay structure - A development builder (Ryan Homes, Drees Homes, Pulte Homes) expects results, and so does Wayne Homes. The problem is you are pushed to make deals happen, however, the average lead time to ever see commissions is a 6 to 8 month turn. I was with the company 12.5 months, and to-date I've received 3 commissions from my 17 sales. This is a system that will never keep sales talent motivated. Who in their right mind would be motivated or want to stay at a company like that? It's all take, no give. 3.Corner cutting - From floor plans to build quality. Customers are required to "customize" their floor plans because the floor plans off the shelf resemble floor plans that were build 20+ years ago, nothing cutting-edge or exciting, anything truly "custom" is vetoed by construction. 4. Competition - This company is OBSESSED with everything their competition does, from price increases to when they seal their asphalt in the parking lot. 5. Growth - I was once told by a co-worker when I first started, "there is no future here" and it was totally correct. Job openings and promotions are given away to people with half your skill set. This company has fired people that have gone to become Vice Presidents at competitors.
