Good beginner job for high school

Can be boring at times

Flexible schedule, can choose work hours and paid weekly. Small holiday bonus, monthly gift cards if there are no store accidents, employee discount.

Customers are awful and self-entitled. Must have thick skin to work there. Short staffed and may have to come in on a off day. Very short breaks, not enough time to go grab food. You have to work on most holidays which are always busy. Supervisors do not like to work. All they want to do is laugh, talk, and stay in the office room on their phones. When the lines are busy they don't even want to open another line to help. Other cashiers sometimes like to turn their light off and walk around or talk with the supervisor(s) instead of working. They even do the go backs but do them so slow to avoid helping check out customers. Bottom line is expect alot of people to slack off and not want to help out.
