Pros

Weekly pay & availability of additional hours for associates when needed.

Cons

Not family oriented, no coverage or flexibility with the schedule to call out or have a proper work life balance. May be required to work inconsistent schedules (until 10p and back at 6a) and most, if not all holidays. The policies that come from corporate are reflective of the disconnect between the ideal and actual store conditions. At a busy store, there aren't any provisions or allowances to ensure cleaning is happening, the attitude from upper management(at store level and above) is I don't care, get it done. Adequate training is often skipped over to meet demands and increase sales, which leads to overwhelmed new associates. Attrition is very high at most busy locations due to the lack of staff, low pay, and extreme demands of the work. Upper management also deliberately under order product to increase bonuses.

Pros

Fantastic health and customer service standards If you have a good management team, everything goes smoothly and even when it doesn't they help you handle it If you negotiate pay before being officially hired, they are willing to negotiate Opportunity for growth Affordable benefits that are actually good

Cons

A LOT is expected from you, and if you don't negotiate for higher pay before being hired, or at the time of promotion, it can feel like you're being underpaid for sure. Just because you are on the same level as someone else, doesn't necessarily mean you will receive the same pay rate
